‘My Scandalous Viscount’ by Gaelen Foley

gf msvSTORY: Sebastian, Viscount Beauchamp, lives by a code of honor, and now honor dictates he must marry Miss Carissa Portland. He has no regrets over stealing a kiss from the adorable little busybody—a fitting punishment for putting her delectable nose where it didn’t belong. But now, caught in a compromising situation, he knows he must make her his bride. He’s faced danger before—but nothing like this!
Carissa is not a gossip—she’s a “lady of information.” And all she was trying to do was warn the rakehell Beauchamp away from an irate husband. But even she can’t flaunt Society, and while her head tells her that Beau’s a notorious scoundrel, her heart—and her body—are captivated by his dangerous charm. But when Carissa next goes snooping, the secrets she uncovers about the Inferno Club may prove even more hazardous than falling in love with her own husband.

REVIEW: Have you had a chance to read Gaelan Foley’s The Inferno Club series yet? If not, you’re really missing out on some great romance that’s filled with adventure, mystery and intrigue. Now this is the way to tell a romance with an element of adventure in it, and not the other way around.

This club is a cover for very special élite of men who belong to The Order of St. Michael and whose purpose is to protect the King and Country against The Promethean, the evil association of another élite group of men who want to rule the world and destroy England. They are Knights of the Order and have trained since childhood, as their fathers before them and as their children will after them, in protecting the Realm.

I’ve already read Max [My Wicked Marquess], Rohan [My Dangerous Duke], Jordan [My Irresistible Earl] and Drake’s story [My Ruthless Prince].

I really like this series, but the only drawback I see to it, is that you really should not read it out of sequence. For the greatest enjoyment of these stories, you should read them in order and I highly recommend each one. All have everything that a romance should and then some!

We met both Carissa and Beau in the previous books so we’re somewhat familiar with their background and in this book the author continues to tell their story in more detail.

I enjoyed the give and take, love and hate of their relationship. The sparks that were only hinted at were fully developed and here and through the dialogue that was fast paced and witty banter, these two just sparkled.

Ms. Foley never fails to develop a good plot, three-dimensional characters and a fast pace. Her villains are smart, devious and canny, but they have nothing on her heroes who are loyal, handsome and deadly.

She also has the ability to bring back all the previous players with their bigger than life personalities without overpowering the current story, but rather enriching the plot. They brought their humor, brain and brawn to this story which will keep you in suspense, in thrall and constantly second guessing good guys as much as the bad guys!

  1. I love this series! I’m currently on Drake’s book but I’ve been looking forward to Beau and Carissa’s story since I found out which order they were in!! Can’t wait to get to it 🙂
