REVIEW: A Year Without a Duke – Book 4
Caroline (Caro) Addison, Lady Whytestone, is a very rich widow who loves to spend her husband’s money on things that she knows he would have hated. The man had been chosen for her by her father. A much older man, he was very opinionated.
Lord Marcus (Mark) Hawkins, brother to the Duke of Trent is calling upon Caro to share some news with her.
The new Duke of Beckworth has finally been found and the man’s name is Nathaniel (Nate) Hughes and he lives in New York in America. Nate, Mark and Caro have been friends for years. As a matter of fact, Mark had hoped to be more than just a friend to Caro but was shocked when she married the rich viscount.
When Mark visits Caro and tells her of Nate’s new title, he also tells her that he is planning on sailing to New York to find Nate and tell him the good news. A letter would not be fast enough because there is a possibility that Nate may be going somewhere else. To his surprise, Caro says that she is also planning on sailing to America to find Nate.
The time is August but everyone is bundling up because this has been a very cold summer. The trip starts out well but they encounter some rough seas that leave some people seasick.
The close quarters and long trip means Caro and Mark spend a lot of time together where they relive old times and they realize that they are very attracted to one another. Soon, their attraction sparks a love that cannot be denied.
Will they find a future together? Will they find Nate to share the good news with him?
