London, England – Winter of 1860
When all the ladies of London realize that handsome and refined gentleman, the Duke of Ainsley, is formally looking for a wife, only weeks before Christmas, a mad dash to claim him begins. Miss Barrington knows her chances with the duke are incredibly good given what her close gypsy friend had once foretold, but a forgotten wager with her greatest nemesis, American millionaire, Mr. Redstone, is about to bring on complications and…chaos.

Will she claim the dashing and respectable duke once foretold by the stars? Or will she fall for Mr. Redstone and go against destiny? Only the days leading up to Christmas will tell!

REVIEW: Miss Felicity Sanders learned at an early age to stand up to the boys’ bad behavior at the Foundling Hospital which often earns her some punishment. At age 16, she has been living at the Hospital for 10 years and is in training to be a domestic servant. Felicity’s mother had been killed in an accident when Felicity was just a year old. When she receives the rare and wonderful news that she is being claimed by her uncle, Mr. Cedric Barrington, owner of Barrington Railroad, she is thrilled.

The next morning, Felicity’s aunt, Baroness Arlington, arrives in all her beautiful glory. She requests that Felicity call her Lady Arlington. She tells Felicity that she must take her shopping for she needs nice clothes.

Felicity’s neighbor, Mr. Maxwell Redstone, is a very wealthy American living in London and enjoying new adventures very day. He is very generous with his money and hopes to find a woman to marry who feels as he does about life.

As Felicity and Maxwell get to know one another, they find they have a lot in common but after they drink bourbon together and she gets drunk, they argue and part ways. This leads to Maxwell leaving the country for several years. When he returns, he finds that she is expecting a proposal from a Duke which goes along with a prediction that a gypsy once told her. Oh, but Maxwell loves her and does not intend to lose her. What happens next are a lot of funny, sometimes silly, but oh so romantic things that Maxwell does to prove to her that she needs to marry him!

A sweet, funny, happy Christmas story that is certain to enchant readers. Don’t miss it.
